BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, July 18, 2025, in the Beckley area of Raleigh County.
The checkpoint will take place along U.S. Route 19, approximately one-tenth of a mile south of the intersection with WV Route 41 (Johnstown Road).

It will be in operation from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
According to state police, the purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Authorities are encouraging the public to assist in preventing impaired driving by reporting suspected drunk or drug-impaired drivers to their local West Virginia State Police detachment, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or any law enforcement agency.
