GLEN DANIEL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police, Beckley Detachment, has announced plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Raleigh County on Friday, May 16, 2025.
The checkpoint will take place at the intersection of WV Route 3 and WV Route 99 in the Glen Daniel area and will be active from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
According to state police, the purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the risks and legal consequences of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Officials are encouraging the public to assist in efforts to prevent drunk and drug-impaired driving by reporting suspected impaired drivers to the West Virginia State Police, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or other local law enforcement agencies.
