Bluefield 16, Westside 0 (5 Innings)
Bluefield – Cara Brown homered and pitched three innings of shutout ball as Bluefield defeated Westside 16-0 in five innings in the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 tournament Monday in Bluefield.
With the win Bluefield advances to the winner’s bracket where it will face Wyoming East at Wyoming East on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Sandraya Dickey led the Beavers at the plate with a 4-for-4 showing while Jordan Jones went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Westside falls into the loser’s bracket and will host PikeView on Tuesday in an elimination game.

Wyoming East 9, PikeView 0 (5 Innings)
New Richmond – Olivia Hylton and Kayley Bane collected two hits each as Wyoming East defeated PikeView 9-0 Monday in the opening round of the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 tournament.
With the win Wyoming East moves into the winner’s bracket where it will face Bluefield in a matchup in New Richmond on Tuesday.
Hylton led the Warriors, pitching a shutout and yielding just one hit while also driving in three runs. Bane smacked a pair of doubles and drive in two runs while Andrea Laxton also drove in two runs.
PikeView falls into the loser’s bracket where it will travel to Westside on Tuesday in an elimination game.
