FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A son is facing charges after he began beating his mother because she wouldn’t buy him drugs, even striking her in the head with a baseball bat.
On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at around 9 am, Deputy First Class (DFC) N.G. Burgess and Deputy Sheriff R.T. Gunnoe were dispatched by the Fayette County 911 Center to Gordon Road in Mossy in response to a domestic dispute call.
Upon reaching the location, deputies found a woman, later identified as the victim, outside on the road. The victim reported that she had gone to her aunt’s house to retrieve a case of soda she had purchased, but her son Zack Zink claimed there was none left.
The defendant then asked the victim to buy drugs for him, to which she refused, leading to an argument where the defendant became angry and demanded she leave. As the victim was exiting the house, she alleged that her son began beating her in the back of the head and then struck her with a baseball bat once she was outside.
Despite sustaining red marks on her head and neck, the victim declined medical treatment from EMS. Zink was charged with Domestic battery.
