BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Commission on Tuesday approved a project drawdown for an ongoing sewer project in the Sophia and Coal City region.
Presented for consideration as one of the final agenda items for Tuesday morning’s Regular Session meeting of the commission, the project drawdown was approved from ARPA funds in the amount of $213,781.
“This is a big project out in the Sophia/Coal City area,” said Raleigh County Administrator, Jay Quesenberry during the meeting. “It’s going to improve and increase the capacity to provide the sewer service to the folks out there.”
Quesenberry would indicate that the funding in question with regard to this particular agenda item would be utilized for engineering, legal, and accounting services.
Also approved during Tuesday’s session was consideration of a pay request for the North Beckley PSD Piney View Sewer project in the amount of $30,841. These funds, according to Quesenberry, will go toward engineering, legal, and administrative services.
