RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A State of Emergency has been declared in Raleigh County amid widespread flooding.
The Raleigh County Commission declared the State of Emergency late Saturday evening following multiple flooding reports across the county.
If you are experiencing high water conditions and need evacuation assistance, call 911 immediately.
An emergency shelter is now open in Beckley at 224 Pinewood Drive – Dream Center for those in need of a safe place to stay.
Raleigh County remains under a Flash Flood Warning until 11:45 PM.
Multiple roads are currently impassable and with it being dark, it’s impossible to tell how deep the water is.
Motorists are urged to turn around, don’t drown or stay off the roads altogether if possible.
