PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A student was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following an altercation with a school resource officer during dismissal at Princeton Senior High School, according to Mercer County Schools.
School officials said the incident began when a student became unruly and uncooperative with staff members and the assigned resource officer.
When the officer ordered the student to comply and return inside the school, the student allegedly became aggressive and knocked the officer to the ground.
Authorities said 911 was called, and the Princeton Police Department responded to the scene with four officers. The student was taken into custody without further incident.
School officials confirmed there were no weapons involved. The situation remains under investigation.
