SURVEYOR, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Surveyor FFA of Liberty High School on Thursday was presented with a check from the Lootpress Foundation.
Presented by Daniel Hall of Access Strategies, the check represented $2,500 in funding which will be utilized for FFA events, as well as participation in competitions.
“It takes a lot to have a successful chapter and we are so thankful for community members and local businesses who help us,” said the Surveyor FFA in a statement. “Thank you Lootpress Foundation!”
First established in 1931, the Surveyor FFA Chapter has approximately 50 members. In 2023 alone, chapter members have participated in multiple events including: the Back to School Bash, West Virginia State Fair, Chili Night at Liberty high School, Homecoming Parade, Regional Tractor Driving Competition, Donations to Veterans, and Winter CDE competitions at WVU.
“I have worked in the school system for 18 years, but this is my first year at liberty high school and my first year working with FFA, it has truly been a wonderful experience, and I hope to help continue to grow the program here at liberty,” said FFA and Liberty High School educator Lindsay Acord.
“I was not a member of FFA when I was in school, but my dad was a member of the 1971 Surveyor FFA and my husband was in 2002. This year I have been able to be with my nephew and I have loved every minute of it.”
Students interested in participating in FFA should be enrolled in Agriculture classes at Liberty High School, and are encouraged to reach out to Mrs. Acord to get involved.
