MONONGALIA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Singh Sukhjinder in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 4, 2025, in connection with a fatal crash on the Cheat Lake Bridge.
Sukhjinder has been charged with negligent homicide following the January 19, 2025, accident that claimed the life of 59-year-old Kevin C. Lataille of Pennsylvania.
Authorities say Sukhjinder, driving a tractor-trailer, was traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to stop after striking Lataille’s vehicle.
The impact forced Lataille’s car off the bridge and into Cheat Lake, resulting in his death.
Law enforcement agencies worked together to locate and arrest Sukhjinder in Phoenix.
He is currently in custody, with further legal proceedings to be handled by the Monongalia County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office expressed its condolences to Lataille’s family and stated that the investigation remains ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges.
