MULLENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man wanted on active warrants was arrested Wednesday morning after officers responded to a breaking and entering call in progress in the Mullens area.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Lane and Mullens Police Officer Eric Hoosier responded to the scene around 11:03 a.m. on October 29, 2025. Officer Hoosier located the suspect, identified as Terry Lee McKinney, walking along the road near the residence.
While deputies attempted to make contact with the complainant, McKinney was detained. Officers later discovered he had two active warrants for public intoxication. During a search, Sgt. Lane found four Suboxone (buprenorphine) packsinside McKinney’s wallet. Deputies say McKinney did not have a valid prescription for the controlled substance.
McKinney was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing. Once in a holding cell with other inmates, deputies say McKinney provided another inmate with a cigarette lighter, rolling papers, and tobacco, which were later recovered.
McKinney now faces drug possession charges in addition to his existing warrants. The investigation remains ongoing.
