KERMIT, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A heated family dispute in the quiet community of Left Fork of Marrowbone turned chaotic when a man allegedly assaulted his parents, damaged property, and fled into a nearby creek — all while under the influence.
According to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began with a verbal altercation inside a residence between the defendant and his father, Hubert Brewer. The disagreement escalated when the defendant reportedly pushed his father and then stormed out of the home.
But the outburst didn’t stop there.
The defendant allegedly made his way down the hollow and smashed a window at Paul Brewer’s garage, causing property damage estimated at less than $2,500. Shortly after, he reportedly threw a bottle, striking his mother during the frenzy.
Following the incidents, the defendant was seen wandering into the creek area visibly intoxicated, drawing concern from locals in the Left Fork of Marrowbone area near Kermit.
Deputies responded to the scene and are pursuing charges related to assault, destruction of property, and public intoxication.
