UPDATE: The gunman responsible for the shooting of a 29-year-old male in the 100 block of Ringleben Street in Beckley has been identified along with the victim in the incident, police say.
Chief of Detectives M.G. Bragg of the Beckley Police Department has indicated that, following an investigation into the incident, Keyon Bennett has been identified as the individual responsible for the drive-by shooting of 29-year-old Deontre Dickason on Thursday.
Felony warrants have been obtained for Bennett on charges of Malicious Wounding and Wanton Endangerment, and he is currently considered a wanted person by the department.
The victim, Deontre Dickason was transported for medical treatment shortly after the incident occurred. The injuries sustained by Dickason are reportedly non-life threatening.
Detective Joseph Stewart has been appointed lead investigator in the investigation, which remains actively ongoing. Those with pertinent information regarding the case or of Bennett’s whereabouts have been encouraged to contact the Beckley Police Department or CRIMESTOPPERSWV.com.

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley Police are searching for a suspect that shot a 29-year-old multiple times.
Beckley Detective David Allard tells Lootpress that a shooting occurred on April 6, 2023, at the 100 block of Ringleben Street just after 2 pm. Allard says a 29-year-old male victim was shot multiple times in the lower extremities while sitting in a vehicle.
The suspect, a passenger in an adjacent vehicle, fired multiple rounds from a handgun. The suspect vehicle fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The current condition of the victim is unknown at this time. No arrests have been made at this time.
