TAZEWELL, VA (LOOTPRESS) – Jackie Lee McGlothlin, 47, of Raven, Virginia, was sentenced to five life terms plus an additional 20 years in prison for multiple crimes against a child under the age of 13.
The sentence was handed down on November 7, 2024, in Tazewell County Circuit Court by Judge Richard Patterson. McGlothlin will serve his time in the Virginia Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole.
McGlothlin was convicted on one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of rape, three counts of forcible sodomy, and one count of object sexual penetration, all involving a child under the age of 13.
“I am grateful for the outcome and am proud of the courage and the bravery the victim in this case showed. I am also thankful to all of the agencies that helped bring this case to a close,” said Kati Asbury, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, who prosecuted the case alongside Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Gabrielle de Courcy.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation, with Detective Michelle Conklin heading the case.
