BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Thousands are without power Tuesday morning as high winds roll through the region.
Much of the area is either under a High Wind Warning or Wind Advisory today. Gusts up to 50 and 60 MPH are possible.
As expected, the high winds have caused thousands of power outages.
According to Appalachian Power, the following counties are experiencing significant outages Tuesday morning as of 9 AM:
Raleigh County: 2,024 outages
Fayette County: 556 outages
Mercer County: 212 outages
Surrounding counties are also reporting outages but are currently below 100 in each county.
In Virginia, Tazewell County is reporting 2,027 customer outages.
