PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Three individuals were arrested in the Wood County area on Friday in relation to a number of charges many of which were in relation to possession of controlled substances including fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine.
One individual involved faces charges on several capias warrants, as well as a charge of Transporting a Controlled Substance into a Jail, a felony offense. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has provided the following:
“On February 28th, 2024, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputy B.G. Turner conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Escape in the 1700 block of Dupont Road, after observing multiple traffic infractions.
Deputy Turner made contact with the driver, who initially provided a false identity. Deputy Turner determined the identity given to be associated with a deceased female. Deputy Turner was then able to determine the driver of the vehicle to be April A. Mounts.
Deputy Turner located numerous active capias warrants for Mounts, and forthwith placed her under arrest, along with various misdemeanor charges. During the encounter Deputy Turner made contact with various passengers inside the vehicle. Deputy Turner then proceeded to place Michael A. Bailey under arrest as he was observed to also have an active capias warrant out for his arrest.
During the encounter, Deputy Turner learned that another passenger in the vehicle, Eugene C. Likens had two active warrants for his arrest. Likens was removed from the vehicle and found to have over 12 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl and methamphetamine on his person. Deputy Turner also located over 90 pills in Likens possession. A further search was conducted, where Deputy Turner located over $1500.00 and a firearm, also in Likens possession.
All three subjects were then placed under arrest and transported to the Wood County Holding Center. Once at the holding center, a female correctional officer located a plastic baggie containing suspected heroin/fentanyl in Mounts’ underwear. The three subjects were then served/charges with the following:
April A. Mounts:
1. 3 Capias warrants
2. Transporting a controlled substance into a jail (felony)
Michael A. Bailey:
1. 1 Capias warrant
Eugene C. Likens:
1. Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (heroin/fentanyl) (felony)
2. Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine) (felony)
3. Prohibited person in possession of a firearm (felony)
4. Presentation of a firearm while in commission of a felony (felony)
5. 2 Active warrants.”
