AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has announced the safe recovery of three children who were recently abducted and the arrest of their estranged biological mother, Shanice Chante Davison, 35, of Evergreen, Alabama.
Davison, who was wanted on three felony abduction charges under Virginia Code 18.2-47, was apprehended in Alabama following a brief pursuit on Interstate 495.
She was taken into custody without incident by the Alabama Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service in the Birmingham area.
The children were found unharmed and are now being reunited with their legal guardians.
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office initially identified Davison as the primary suspect after an extensive investigation revealed she had taken the children and was believed to be traveling back to Alabama.
Authorities worked across state lines with multiple law enforcement agencies to locate Davison and ensure the children’s safety.
Davison is described as an African American female, 5’6”, 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was believed to be driving a black four-door sedan at the time of her flight.
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude for the coordinated efforts of numerous agencies, including the Virginia State Police, U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, Alabama Highway Patrol, Evergreen Police Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Hoover Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
