INWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three individuals, including two juveniles, following an armed robbery and carjacking at the Sheetz gas station in Inwood on the evening of June 18, 2025.
Deputies Leake and Merson responded around 8:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at the Sheetz located at 7899 Winchester Avenue.
According to the report, the juvenile victim told deputies he had given a ride to two unknown males who later threatened him with a firearm and stole his wallet and vehicle, a 2011 Audi A4.
The victim managed to flee the vehicle after pulling into Sheetz, where he contacted security and law enforcement.
Deputies launched an immediate investigation and later identified and located one juvenile suspect at his home in Inwood.
While canvassing the area, Deputy Beasley spotted two males walking along Winchester Avenue, one of whom matched the description of the second suspect.
One was quickly apprehended, while the other fled on foot but was captured by Deputy Miller in a nearby field.
The suspects were identified as Zion Hamilton, 18, and two juveniles, ages 17 and 16.
A backpack discarded during the chase was recovered by Sergeant Ritchie and found to contain the firearm used in the robbery, along with several individual bags of marijuana.
The stolen Audi was also recovered and returned to the victim’s family.
Hamilton was transported to Eastern Regional Jail and charged with armed robbery, grand larceny, conspiracy, and possession with intent to distribute.
The 17-year-old juvenile faces the same charges and was taken to the Vicky Douglas Juvenile Center. The 16-year-old juvenile was also taken to Vicky Douglas and charged with conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute.
The investigation is ongoing.
