WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The fifth annual GameChanger Prevention Education Dinner and Golf Classic is set to begin Wednesday at The Greenbrier resort, with former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow delivering the keynote address at that evening’s dinner.
In response to high demand, the event’s popular golf tournament has expanded to both of The Greenbrier’s courses and will take place Thursday morning.
Tebow, known for his achievements in both professional football and baseball, joins a notable list of past GameChanger keynote speakers, including football coach Nick Saban, country music star Brad Paisley, basketball coach Roy Williams, and actress Jennifer Garner.
In addition to his sports career, Tebow is a five-time New York Times best-selling author and a prominent college football analyst.
He is particularly recognized for his philanthropic work through the Tim Tebow Foundation, which serves vulnerable populations in over 90 countries.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to attend and speak at the GameChanger Prevention Education Dinner. Our young people are one of God’s greatest gifts, and too many lives are lost to fentanyl, opioids and addiction,” Tebow said.
“GameChanger has stepped into the fight, bringing real hope and solutions, and I am honored to stand with them in this mission.”
Joe Boczek, founder and executive director of GameChanger, praised Tebow’s involvement as a reflection of the organization’s impact.
“Tim Tebow is as good of a person there is, and to have his support is a compliment to all the hard work everyone on our team is doing,” Boczek said. “Prevention education is challenging, but the lives of the youth in West Virginia and the nation are worth every hour of every minute of every day.”
Board Chairman Larry Puccio agreed, noting that Tebow’s presence underscores the growing reach of the GameChanger initiative.
“The fact that a person the caliber of Tim Tebow, who is doing such fabulous work with our youth and adults around the world, thought enough to make time to speak at our GameChanger event speaks volumes of the good work we are doing throughout West Virginia,” Puccio said.
Puccio also highlighted the program’s role in supporting schools in the implementation of Laken’s Law, which requires opioid and fentanyl prevention education in all West Virginia middle and high schools.
“Because the West Virginia Legislature had the foresight to pass Laken’s Law, more than 150,000 students in 167 middle and high schools have been able to comply with Laken’s Law as a result of the program available free of charge to all schools in West Virginia via the GameChanger website www.gamechangerusa.org,” Puccio said.
