Tommy Lynn Bane “LOBO”, 70 of Bluefield, VA, passed away peacefully Thursday, September14th, 2023 surrounded by his family at the VA Hospital in Salem, VA. Born August 7th, 1953, in Bluefield WV, he was the son of the late Hallie Clifton Bane Jr. and Barbara Sue Burress Bane of Bluefield, VA.
He served in the US Army from 1972 to 1974, where he was Honorably Discharged. After his service he worked with Dr. Robert Taylor and Dr. Elliott Blaydes. He also worked as a carpenter with his uncle’s and childhood friends. He enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his little furry companion Bailey “Baybay”.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his ex-wife Sandy to whom he still loved deeply till the day he passed. He is survived by his daughters: Ashleigh Roberts and husband Roy, Melissa Bane and fiancé Tyler Laws, granddaughter: Addisyn, grandson: Caden “Hambone”, bonus grandchildren: Chase, Kylie and Ethan, sisters: Pam Murphy and husband John Paul, Robin Fulp and husband Wayne, brothers: David Bane and Timmy Bane and wife Christina, nephews: Johnathan, TC and Cory “Little Buddy”, nieces: Kelli, Emily, Lauren, Macie and Ashton, a great nephew: Koltin and great niece: Ella, along with a special cousin who he raised like a daughter Denise Gold, and special childhood friend Daniel Frost “Frosty”.
The family would like to thank the Salem VA Medical Centerfor their kind and compassionate care provided during his stay, especially to his nurse Justis and Dr. Gupta.
A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Phillip White officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
