MARLINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The town of Marlinton has announced information about the upcoming Christmas parade and the “Let’s Light Up Marlinton” event kicking off next week.
According to the town of Marlinton, their Christmas parade will be held on Friday, December 1 at 7:00 PM.
The parade lineup will begin at Marlinton Elementary School. The parade route will include 4th Avenue to Main Street, 2nd Ave to 9th Street, and back to the school with Santa stopping at Discovery Junction.
There will be craft vendors set up in the opera house before the parade begins. If you would like more information regarding the parade or craft fair, please contact Lauren Bennett at the Marlinton Wellness Center.
Before the parade begins, head over to the Marlinton Elementary School Cafeteria from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM for dinner with Santa which will include pancakes, sausages, juice & milk.
The prices for admission are as follows: Ages 6 & under – $1, Ages 6-12 – $3, Ages 12 to adult – $5.
All proceeds will be donated to the Pocahontas Cooperative Food Parish Pantry. The event is sponsored by the Marlinton Rotatory Club.
Don’t forget about the 1st Annual “Let’s Light Up Marlinton.” Voting will begin the night of the parade on December 1st & continue through December 10th.
92 town residents & businesses have entered into the decorating contest & voting will be open to the public.
There will be a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner in each category (residential & commercial). You can stop by the Marlinton Town Office anytime from now until December 10th to pick up voting packets.
