(LOOTPRESS) – President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday to establish a new White House Office of Faith and Opportunity.
According to a fact sheet obtained by Fox News, the office aims to “empower faith communities, community groups, and places of worship to serve communities and families in a more effective manner.”
Faith Office’s Role and Mission
The office will be housed under the Domestic Policy Council and will consult faith leaders on policy decisions to “better align with American values.” It will also work with various federal agencies to provide religious liberty training and expand grant opportunities for faith-based non-profits, community groups, and houses of worship. Additionally, the office will collaborate with the Department of Justice to address constitutional protections for religious liberty.
Task Force to Address “Anti-Christian Bias”
The executive order follows another signed by Trump just a day earlier, creating a “Task Force to End the War on Christians.” The initiative will include members of the president’s Cabinet and key government agencies, with the stated goal of “ending the anti-Christian weaponization of government.”
The move comes in response to the prosecution of nearly two dozen pro-life Christians who were charged and sentenced for protesting outside abortion clinics during the Biden administration. In his first week back in office, Trump pardoned 23 pro-life protesters in what he called an effort to protect religious freedom.
The establishment of the White House Faith Office marks another step in Trump’s broader push to strengthen the role of faith-based organizations in policymaking and governance.
