WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) — President Donald Trump announced plans to pardon reality TV personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley, who are currently serving prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion, during an emotional phone call with their children on Tuesday.
In a video clip shared by a White House aide, Trump is heard telling the Chrisley children, “Your parents are going to be free and clean. I hope we can do it by tomorrow.” He added, “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life.”
The Chrisleys, stars of the popular series Chrisley Knows Best, were convicted in 2022. Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while Julie Chrisley received a 7-year sentence after being found guilty of conspiring to defraud banks out of more than $30 million and hiding income from the IRS.
Trump’s public support comes as he continues to weigh high-profile pardons, a strategy that has drawn both praise and criticism from political observers.
No formal paperwork has been filed yet regarding the pardons, but Trump’s comments suggest action could come soon.
