LEWIS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A routine traffic stop led to a significant drug seizure in Lewis County on Friday, March 21, 2025.
At approximately 4:46 p.m., the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a white SUV near the Jackson Mill Corner Mart.
The vehicle was occupied by a known wanted individual, who was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
During a search of the suspect for officer safety, deputies discovered a blue narcotic smoking device in his front pocket.
This discovery provided probable cause for a search of the vehicle, which revealed 42 white paper packages containing approximately 2,100 suspected fentanyl stamps.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs at $42,000.
Both the driver and the wanted individual were arrested and transported to Central Regional Jail.
They remain in custody as they await further legal proceedings.
The arrests were part of an ongoing effort by the Mountain Region Drug Task Force and the West Virginia State Police to combat drug trafficking in the state.
Police have not released the name of the suspects.
Sheriff Mickey Metz emphasized that both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
