HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two individuals face charges out of Summers County after purportedly stealing a number of items from a Hinton residence.
According to documentation from Summers County Magistrate Court, on February 1, 2024, at approximately 2:23pm, Patrolman Crawford responded to a potential breaking and entering situation at James Street in Hinton.
Upon arrival at the scene, a family friend of the homeowner advised that someone had been entering the home through the back door and sleeping on a bed in the living room area.
A walkthrough of the residence revealed damage to the back door with obvious signs of forced entry from a blunt object. Other entryways throughout the home appeared secure.
Multiple cigarette burn marks could be observed on the floor of the residence along with dog feces which had been strewn about the living room area of the home.
An itemized list of stolen items was obtained, and the items totaled at $2,300 in value.
At 6:00pm on April 5, 2024, Patrolman Crawford made contact with a person of interest in the investigation, Rafael Jackson. Jackson advised that he and Laconda Gore had been entering the residence in question through the back door and moving items out of the Hinton residence.
Jackson stated that his cousin owned the residence and had asked them for help cleaning and moving items from the residence. He stated that this cousin was allowing them to stay there.
At approximately 4:00pm on April 11, 2024, Patrolman Crawford made contact with Laconda Gore, who did admit to being with Jackson at the residence. She also admitted to helping to remove items through the back door to be placed in the yard so that they could be taken when it was dark outside.
Both Gore and Jackson were arrested based on the incidents in question and face charges of Burglary and Grand Larceny.
