JEFFERSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were killed and several others injured in a house fire Tuesday morning in Jefferson County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers said the blaze was reported around 9:03 a.m. at 21 Blackberry Lane in the Harpers Ferry area. Members of the Charles Town Detachment responded to assist local volunteer fire departments and emergency services.

Nicole Taylor, 54, was flown to MedStar Health with significant burn injuries. Her two children, Penelope Taylor, 19, and Christopher Taylor, 23, were treated at Jefferson Medical Center for minor injuries.
During the investigation, authorities discovered the bodies of an unidentified male and female inside the residence. Police believe they are family members of those who lived in the home.
Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston.
The West Virginia State Police is leading the death investigation, while the State Fire Marshal and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the cause of the fire.
