WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were killed early Monday morning in a UTV crash on Sams Creek Road near Paddle Run, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:36 a.m. and found a red and white Polaris RZR had crashed.
The driver, a male, and a female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released, pending family notification.
A third passenger, identified as Edward McComas III, survived the crash and was able to reach a nearby residence to call for help.
Authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Emergency responders from the Mineral Wells and Eastwood Volunteer Fire Departments, along with CCMC Ambulance Service, assisted at the scene.
