FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were arrested Friday after Fayetteville police executing a search warrant at a local hotel reported finding more than a pound of methamphetamine and several grams of fentanyl.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers S.A. Gunnoe and J.P. Hannigan responded Aug. 21 to the Quality Inn after receiving a complaint through Fayette County Dispatch concerning a man and woman at the hotel. Police said the complaint indicated the man was believed to have an active arrest warrant.
During the investigation, officers identified the two individuals as Chris Tucker and Megan Osborne. Police said Tucker had an active arrest warrant through the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Department in Virginia that included extradition.
Police then obtained and executed a search warrant for the hotel room where Tucker and Osborne were staying.
During the search, officers reported finding a bag containing approximately 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine and 5.4 grams of fentanyl, along with an additional 5 grams of methamphetamine.
Tucker was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver, drug conspiracy and fugitive from justice.
Osborne was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver and drug conspiracy.
Both were transported to Southern Regional Jail without incident, according to police.
Gunnoe was listed as the arresting officer, with Hannigan and officers D.M. Bell and J.A. Jones assisting. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and Oak Hill Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
The Fayetteville Police Department said the investigation demonstrates officers’ continued commitment to solving crime in the area.
All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
