OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two men were arrested after deputies allegedly discovered several controlled substances and a firearm during a home confinement check in Wyoming County.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were assisting Home Confinement Officer Savanna Kinser with a status check at a residence in the Oceana area around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Authorities said the home visit involved Steven Clark of Oceana, who was being monitored on home confinement. During the visit, Kinser allegedly noticed a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine in Clark’s pocket.
Deputies then entered the residence, where they encountered Alexander Riddle walking out of a bedroom, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said Riddle continued walking away after being instructed to stop.
Authorities searched Riddle and a backpack in his possession and allegedly recovered several controlled substances along with a firearm.
The sheriff’s office said the substances recovered included suspected marijuana, three Suboxone strips, two bags of suspected methamphetamine, two bags containing a white powder consistent with fentanyl, a pill identified as hydrocodone and four unidentified pills.
Riddle was arrested and charged with five counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Clark was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and a home confinement violation.
Both men were transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
