PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A traffic stop in Parkersburg on Monday led to the arrest of two individuals after authorities discovered two pounds of methamphetamine in their vehicle.
According to a press release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force and sheriff’s deputies conducted the stop on 44th Street on June 16, 2025.
Officers identified the driver as Kevin Gardner, a Parkersburg resident, and the passenger as Cidney Nichols of Walker.
A K9 unit alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Investigators located a bag containing approximately two pounds of methamphetamine.
Gardner and Nichols were both arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Transporting Methamphetamine into the State, and Conspiracy.
The two were arraigned and are currently being held at the North Central Regional Jail on $250,000 surety bonds.
