GAFFNEY, SC (LOOTPRESS) – After nearly six years on the run, U.S. Marshals arrested 38-year-old Charles Ray Blevins in South Carolina on March 31. Blevins, a fugitive wanted for a 2019 murder in Kentucky, was taken into custody after a failed escape attempt.
Blevins, of Williamson, West Virginia, was wanted for first-degree murder and illegal firearm possession in Kentucky, as well as a parole violation in West Virginia. He was considered highly dangerous, known to carry firearms and body armor, and had threatened to resist arrest violently.
Authorities tracked Blevins to a residence on Coach Hill Drive in Gaffney, South Carolina. As U.S. Marshals’ Special Operations Group moved in, Blevins attempted to flee but fell, breaking his leg. He was immediately taken into custody without further incident and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Law enforcement agencies from multiple states collaborated in the operation, including U.S. Marshals task forces from West Virginia, Kentucky, and the Carolinas. Blevins was being considered for the agency’s “15 Most Wanted” list before his arrest.
“This arrest highlights our dedication to tracking down violent fugitives and ensuring justice is served,” said Acting U.S. Marshals Director Mark Pittella. “No matter how long it takes, we will find them.”
Blevins remains in U.S. Marshals custody, awaiting extradition to Kentucky to face charges
