BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – United Apostolic Faith Church teamed with multiple community organizations over the weekend to host its Back to School Summer Fest for students and families throughout the Raleigh County area.
Community members made their way to the Memorial Baptist Church Soccer Field at South Kanawha Street on Saturday for a fun-filled afternoon of games, food, music, dancing, vendors, and even live wrestling from APW Pro Wrestling.
Among those set up to join in on the festivities were the Beckley Fire Department, Raleigh County Family Support Center, West Virginia African American Tobacco Prevention Network, Bluefield State University, WVU Tech, and more.
Multiple school supply giveaways were featured as part of the Back to School Summer Fest, which included a presentation from WVU Tech President, Dr. T. Ramon Stuart, who encouraged students in attendance to follow their dreams and to put in the work to make them happen.
Raleigh County students are set to return to the classroom as the school year kicks off on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
