WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that it will reinstate and compensate all probationary employees who were previously terminated, following a 45-day stay issued by the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) on March 5.
According to the USDA statement, by March 12, all affected employees will be placed back on pay status and receive back pay from their original termination dates. The department is currently working on a phased return-to-duty plan and has assured employees that they will continue to receive pay while those plans are finalized.
The MSPB stay temporarily halts the termination of probationary employees while further reviews take place. The USDA has not yet provided details on the next steps beyond the 45-day period.
