WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced that it will not raise prices for Market Dominant products, including First-Class Mail, in January 2025.
The decision follows a recommendation from Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, which was accepted by the USPS Board of Governors. As a result, the cost to mail a 1-ounce First-Class letter will remain unchanged.
The Postal Service’s operational strategies focus on improving service reliability, cost efficiency, and productivity. “Our strategies are working, and projected inflation is declining,” said Postmaster General DeJoy. “Therefore, we will wait until at least July before proposing any increases for Market Dominant services.”
USPS continues its commitment to cost-saving measures while keeping its services affordable. Notably, only a few countries offer lower prices for mailing a domestic letter than the United States.
The USPS remains focused on its long-term goals as outlined in the “Delivering for America” 10-year plan, which aims to maintain reliable mail and package delivery services at least six days a week, in line with its public service mission and the requirements set by Congress.
