BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Veterans in southern West Virginia will have an opportunity to learn more about benefits and services available to them during a free information seminar hosted by the Disabled American Veterans later this month.
The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beckley VA Medical Center, located at 200 Veterans Ave. in Beckley.
DAV, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans and their families, said the event is part of its Information Seminar program, which is offered nationwide to help veterans access the benefits and services they have earned through military service.
The seminar will be staffed by DAV national service officers, who provide professional assistance throughout the veterans claims and appeals process. The services are offered at no cost, and veterans do not have to be DAV members to participate.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring identification, their Social Security number and any documentation related to their military service that may be helpful during the consultation process.
According to DAV, the organization assists more than 1 million veterans each year through a variety of programs and services designed to support veterans of all generations and their families.
More information about DAV and its services is available at DAV.org.
