LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was arrested last week following a traffic stop on US 219 North.
Cpl. J.T. Williams and Patrolman Stevens of the Lewisburg Police Department reportedly stopped a gray Toyota Corolla on 06/12/2022 to address defective equipment on the vehicle.
Crystal Vaughan of Frankford was found to be operating the vehicle.
Vaughan reportedly showed signs of impairment prior to and during the conducting of field sobriety testing. These signs included restricted eyes that were non-reactive to light, and difficulty maintaining conversation.
Vaughan is reported to have admitted to ingesting marijuana two hours prior two the stop, and to have consented to a blood draw – though consent is said to have been retracted upon the arrival at the Greenbrier Valley ER.
Vaughan’s 16 year old daughter was also reportedly present in the vehicle during the incident.
Upon obtaining consent for a search of Vaughan’s purse, Stevens reports to have discovered paraphernalia including marijuana, methamphetamine, and dab wax.
Furthermore, the registration for the vehicle in question was found to have expired on 06/01/2022.
Vaughan now faces charges on three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and single counts of Expired Registration, Defective Equipment, and Child Neglect Creating Risk of Death or Bodily Injury.
