MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On December 31, 2024, a routine patrol in Mingo County, West Virginia, led to the arrest of a man wanted on an out-of-state warrant after a brief pursuit and altercation with law enforcement.
According to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy T.J. Justice II encountered Jeremiah Daniel Young on East 3rd Avenue in Williamson. During the initial interaction, Young allegedly provided a false name, identifying himself as “Jeremiah Daniels.”

Attempt to Flee
As Deputy Justice began a safety frisk, Young reportedly pulled away and fled the scene. Despite repeated commands to stop, Young continued to evade the officer. The pursuit led to the area near the local water plant, where Young attempted to hide behind a section of the flood wall.
Physical Altercation
When Deputy Justice located him, Young resisted arrest, striking the deputy and attempting to escape custody. After a brief struggle, the officer subdued Young and placed him in handcuffs without further incident.
Charges and Next Steps
Young was taken into custody and is facing charges including providing false information, fleeing from law enforcement, and assaulting an officer. He remains in custody as authorities coordinate his extradition to Virginia to address his probation violation.
