CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia American Water today its total charitable contributions for 2023.
Last year, the company gave more than $459,000 in grants, charitable donations, and program support to nearly 127 organizations in West Virginia.
Additionally, the American Water Charitable Foundation (AWCF) granted $386,200 and provided employee matching gifts, impacting communities served by West Virginia American Water. The total giving surpassed $845,200.
Rob Burton, President of West Virginia American Water, stated that their efforts go beyond delivering water and wastewater services. They are dedicated to supporting organizations that enhance the communities for their customers and employees. The collective funding of over $845,000 aims to improve the well-being and safety of customers and communities.
Some of the organizations in West Virginia that received grants from the American Water Charitable Foundation in 2023 were:
– The Huntington Children’s Museum ($164,520) for the ADA accessible Sensory City exhibit
– The American Red Cross Central Appalachian Region ($30,000) for disaster relief efforts after flash flooding
– Mission West Virginia ($25,000) for the Bridge Program
– First Lady Cathy Justice’s Communities in Schools Program ($25,000) for the Steps to Student Success Program
– The West Virginia Manufacturers Association Educational Fund ($19,820) for the Explore the New Manufacturing Program West Virginia American Water employees raised over $37,000 for 73 non-profit organizations in West Virginia through the American Water Charitable Foundation’s volunteer and matching gift program.
