CALHOUN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Jacob Daniel McCumbers, a Calhoun County Commissioner and former first-grade teacher at Arnoldsburg Elementary, has been charged with 50 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian, or person of trust, according to the West Virginia State Police Child Victim Unit.
McCumbers was committed to WV Central Regional Jail at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Bail was set at $100,000 and has been posted, with McCumbers released on home confinement following his arraignment.

A forensic interview conducted by the State Police Child Victim Unit on September 12 revealed that the victim stated abuse had occurred approximately 50 times over several years.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 2, 2025, at 9 a.m. in Calhoun County Magistrate Court.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
