MARSHALL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Marshall County Sheriff’s deputy was seriously injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash while responding to a domestic violence call.
According to Sheriff Mike Dougherty, the collision occurred on Fish Creek Road near Greenfield Ridge around 10:45 p.m.
The deputy, who had emergency lights and sirens activated, collided with a pickup truck while en route to the call.
The deputy was flown by medical helicopter to WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown and is listed in serious condition.
The driver of the pickup was evaluated at the scene by Marshall County EMS and released.
The West Virginia State Police are investigating the crash. Additional details will be released as they become available.
