CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) today announced that registration is now open for its Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW) spring workshop, scheduled for May 1-3 at Twin Falls Resort State Park.
BOW is a nationally recognized program that introduces women to various hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related activities in a welcoming and supportive environment. The WVDNR’s spring workshop offers participants the chance to learn new skills while enjoying the beauty of one of West Virginia’s premier state parks.
“The relaxed, positive learning environment of these workshops is intended to help women gain confidence in outdoor skills,” said Emily McCabe, State Coordinator for Becoming an Outdoors Woman. “It’s an opportunity for them to connect with nature while building a community with like-minded individuals. As a result, many leave the event with lasting friendships and a newfound passion for the outdoors.”
The spring workshop features more than 20 unique classes with hands-on instruction in a variety of outdoor activities, including archery, fly fishing, wild game cooking and stream ecology. Classes rotate each year, ensuring a fresh experience for returning participants. Women of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, are encouraged to attend.
The workshop is limited to 75 participants, and spaces fill quickly. Registration is $225, which includes instruction, required equipment and meals. Lodging is available at an additional cost. Participants enrolling in a fishing class must purchase a fishing license and trout stamp and send a copy of their license with their registration and fees.
