CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) reports the number of West Virginians using Mobile ID is continuing to grow, with over 35,500 (35,537 as of this date) West Virginians now enrolled.
-
Mobile ID is secure and contactless. Your phone stays in your hand when you scan Mobile ID.
-
Mobile ID is accepted at TSA checkpoints at many airports, and is compatible with Real ID.
-
Mobile ID lets you decide and control what information you share, unlike a physical driver’s license. You can select or deselect information such as height, weight and address.
-
Security features on your phone, such as passwords or facial recognition, also help secure your Mobile ID.
-
Continue to carry your physical driver’s license as Mobile ID continues to be accepted at a growing number of locations. Be patient with locations who do not yet have the technology.
Another neat perk of using Mobile ID – it serves as identification in the event you lose your wallet, as you work to reestablish your identifying documents.
West Virginians can enroll and download Mobile ID from anywhere, you do not need to make a special trip to the DMV. Visit dmv.wv.gov ( https://transportation.wv.gov/dmv/mid/Pages/default.aspx ) to find out more and to enroll.
