Officers from the Buckhannon Police Department were first to arrive at the intersection of Poplar and Old Elkins Road, discovering that the suspect had fled the scene.

Deputies soon located the suspect, identified as Marvin D. “Buck” Tenney, 82, of Tahoe Street, Buckhannon, driving a 1990 Ford pickup truck without headlights on South Florida Street.

Despite attempts to stop him, Tenney led deputies on a chase to Martin Street, where he ultimately crashed into a residence.

Upshur County Sheriff Coffman used fire extinguishers to prevent the vehicle fire from spreading to the home.

The investigation revealed that Tenney intentionally drove into three residences, targeting multiple people he believed had wronged him.

One victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at St. Joseph’s Hospital, while two others are receiving care for serious injuries at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Tenney faces a multitude of charges, including five counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of felony destruction of property, retaliation against a witness, leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury, fleeing with reckless indifference, fleeing while DUI and DUI causing serious bodily injury.

He is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $1,000,000 cash-only bond.
