BUCKHANNON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Buckhannon man has been charged with multiple offenses following a domestic incident involving a firearm, according to a statement from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 17, 2025, Corporal Gordon responded to a report in which a 6-year-old child disclosed that his father, 27-year-old Alex A. Alkire, had pointed a firearm at him during a domestic dispute with the child’s mother.

After conducting several interviews and seizing multiple firearms from Alkire’s residence, deputies charged him with the felony offenses of Wanton Endangerment with a Firearm and Gross Child Neglect.
He was also charged with the misdemeanor offense of Domestic Assault.
Alkire was brought before Magistrate Mark Davis and released on an $11,000 surety bond.
