BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Hedgesville man was sentenced to the maximum allowable prison term after pleading no contest to charges stemming from a fatal drug overdose in Berkeley County.
Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph R. Kinser announced that Brian Keith Noll, 51, pleaded no contest Tuesday, July 7, in Berkeley County Circuit Court to the felony offenses of delivery of a controlled substance resulting in death and concealed carry of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Following his convictions, Noll was sentenced to an aggregate term of 18 years in prison, the maximum sentence permitted under the law.
The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia State Police. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Shannon F. Kiser prosecuted the case.
Kinser thanked the law enforcement officers involved in the investigation, noting they could not be individually identified because of their work with the task force.
“This conviction and sentence underscores the lethal impact of illicit drugs on our community. Through close collaboration, law enforcement and my office remain dedicated to delivering justice and ensuring public safety.” Kinser said.
