WELLSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia mayor is facing backlash after a Facebook post he made regarding Charlie Kirk.
In a Facebook post shortly after Kirk’s death, Wellsburg Mayor Danny Dudley stated the following: “Sad Day in America Flying a American Flag Half Mase for a Racist Priceless!Wellsburg Mayor Daniel L Dudley”

The post caused a stir on social media with many calling for Dudley’s resignation.
Delegate Jimmy Willis (R-Brooke) who represents Wellsburg in the House of Delegates is one of those who called for the mayor’s resignation.
“Ignorant, vile remarks like this are the reason events like yesterday happened. I hope this so called community leader finds the mental health help he needs,” Willis stated in a Facebook post.
“I immediately call upon him to resign from the office of Mayor and will ensure a pulling of all state funding until his resignation!! Thank you for your attention on this matter.”
The mayor has not publicly announced any plans to resign.
Wellsburg citizens have organized a peaceful protest against the mayor’s comments which is scheduled for 9 AM on Saturday at the corners of Eighth and Ninth and Commerce Street in Wellsburg.
