Deputies quickly responded to the location and identified the suspect as Tiffanie Rebecca Dokes-Klauser.
Authorities confirmed she had active felony kidnapping warrants issued by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
A missing child listed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database was also found in the vehicle with her.
After confirming the child’s status through the NCIC system, deputies took Dokes-Klauser into custody without incident.
She was transported to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office. Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified immediately, and the child was safely reunited with her family.
Dokes-Klauser has been charged with kidnapping and was arraigned in Monongalia County. She is being held without bond and will be transferred to the North Central Regional Jail.
The suspect’s vehicle was initially flagged by a license plate recognition alert on Interstate 79, which was relayed by Marion County 911 and led deputies to the location in Monongalia County.
Sheriff Todd Forbes commended Marion County Deputies for their quick action and praised his own department’s deputies for providing care and comfort to the child during the recovery.
