BRAXTON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – UPDATE 3/21/25 4:25 PM: West Virginia State Troopers of the Sutton Detachment developed information that led to the arrest of Christopher L. Lacey, a 59-year-old male from Burnsville.
Mr. Lacey was charged with Concealment of a Human Body and Failure to Render Aid in connection with the death of Belinda Riffle.

ORIGINAL STORY: The West Virginia State Police are investigating the death of a woman found in a rural area of Braxton County.
On March 17, 2025, troopers from the Sutton Detachment recovered the body of an unidentified female in Vernon.

Further investigation led authorities to identify the deceased as 36-year-old Belinda Dawn Riffle, a resident of Braxton County.
State police have classified the case as a homicide and are actively investigating.
They are asking for the public’s help in gathering information.
