BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Wednesday, December 12, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Sergeant Smith of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department responded to Widmeyer Elementary School following an assault complaint reported by the Morgan County Board of Education.
According to authorities, an investigation revealed that on Monday, December 10, 2024, Mrs. Jazmyn Rohrer, a teacher at the school, allegedly physically assaulted a six-year-old female student.
After gathering evidence, Sergeant Smith obtained felony arrest warrants for Mrs. Rohrer on three counts of child abuse creating a substantial risk of injury. She was arrested, arraigned in Morgan County, and subsequently released on bail.
The Morgan County Board of Education has not issued a statement regarding the incident. The case remains under investigation.
