MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Lenore woman has been charged after West Virginia State Police allege she used her personal Cash App account to steal nearly $18,000 from a Mingo County man’s bank account.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Senior Trooper Bragg of the Williamson Detachment began investigating the case on Aug. 19, 2025, after Bobby Kolfee, 52, of Delbarton, reported that approximately $18,000 had been unlawfully withdrawn from his bank account over the course of several months.
During the investigation, Senior Trooper Bragg determined that Ashley Newsome, 37, of Lenore, allegedly obtained Kolfee’s bank card information and used it to access his account through her personal Cash App account.
On June 22, 2026, troopers obtained arrest warrants charging Newsome with 127 counts of fraudulent use of an access device, along with grand larceny and computer fraud.
Newsome was arrested and arraigned in Mingo County Magistrate Court, where she was released on bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
