FREEPORT TOWNSHIP, OH (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia woman was killed in a UTV crash in neighboring Ohio on February 28, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Breanna L. Arthurs, 28, of Wellsburg, WV, was a passenger in the UTV when it veered off State Route 342 in Harrison County, overcorrected, and overturned.
Arthurs, who was not wearing a safety belt, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries.
Another passenger, Olivia K. Jones, 18, of Freeport, OH, was also ejected and transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment.
The driver, Trish A. Jones, 47, of Freeport, was treated at the scene and later arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) and other pending charges.
The crash, which occurred around 10:09 p.m., remains under investigation.
Multiple agencies, including the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and local EMS and fire departments, responded to the scene.
